I'm going to do a chargeback as this just isn't fair!! And I've just noticed her feedback has gone private - groan!!!
Get your chargeback in now, don't wait a moment longer.

Soo
It seems any buyer can do a chargeback with paypal without the sellers knowledge or Paypal asking the seller for information first
So anyone can buy an expensive item, get the item and then do a chargeback pretending the item never arrived

As soon as a buyer puts a chargeback into paypal the seller is notified. The seller then has to prove delivery or refund the buyer. So if the item has been sent recorded or signed for *and* has been delivered the seller can stop the chargeback that way. If however the item was sent standard post the seller can just refund and claim back later from the RM in their own time.
In the case I responded to above the buyer has been told by the seller that the item is probably lost, but has made the mistake of telling the buyer she has to wait for the M claim to go through. This is nonsense, the seller should refund and reclaim from the RM later. Also, I was concerned that the seller now has private feedback, that alone would have me running to do a chargeback.

I always laugh when i see a seller state in the auction - 'i don't take responsibilty for items lost etc' i will only pay by paypal and i know that paypal would immedietly find in my favour if the seller has no tracking. I only send things recorded or special and IMHO i think it is quite rude for someone to put in their auction that they don't take responibilty.
I agree with Poppy, it would be good if ebay kept a track like that of past claims etc

This is the 4th chargeback I've had to do in the last 2 months and it's really annoying. If the sellers could be bothered to answer their emails half the time, things could be resolved much more easily- I use 'contact seller' so the message is in their My EBay folder, so no messing around with emails ending up in spam folders etc.
I have the same postman and he's really good about leaving cards etc so there are no problems at this end.
I paid for the item on 19/01 and gave her leeway of 7 working days before asking her. Why do you think your buyer is trying it on, Poppy? It could be me - lolNoli nothis permittere te terere

i agree everything recorded (safe for you and buyer). i never leave feedback until they do and i would wait for royal mail.LULUBELLE wrote:TBH, I send everything either recorded or Special delivery - then if it's lost, I'm covered. But if you didn't automatically do that , but offered insurance and the buyer chose not to pay for, my understanding was that it was the buyer's loss?
