Had my 13 week review meeting yesterday.
The girl told me that as from next week, the 30 minute "timeslot" per person for 13 week reviews, is being reduced to 15 minutes.
They've already started telling some (probably what they consider "good", i.e really trying...!) jobseekers in this area, South West, to only sign on every 4 weeks for a while, as they just can't cope with the increase in claimants.....

...and the JC+'s are staying open to 7.00pm being manned by back-office managers.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

I had my 13 week interview last week and all that came out of it was I need to start looking at lesser jobs than I was previously in. I was in IT Support and I've now got to apply for data entry. I was also told that I have to be prepared accept minimum wage and be willing to travel for 90 minutes to get to a workplace. She also said that it would go upto 120 minutes if I'm still unemployed in another 13 weeks
  • It seems like everyones experience is different depending on where you sign/which adviser you get.

A friend of mine did his over the phone!

I had mine today and was a bit worried. But I read on another forum that just having your 'little book' filled in would be enough.

Anyway, the guy was quite clueless about my situation (a specialist design field) I mentioned admin (to try and chivvy things along a bit) and he proceeded to print off three admin jobs. (One for the Disney shop HR dept - as he helpfully pointed out "Oh, it's good to work for Disney, you ge a free tkt to Disneyland every year" !!!!!!? I made a face...)

So he waffled a bit more no particular advice or ultimatums/requirements - just a new 'agreement' - but then... I have to sign on now EVERY WEEK now (for the next six weeks)

You should expect to widen your job search to at least three jobs and have a new Jobseeker's Agreement drawn up.
and you will now have to attend weekly.

    ridiculous.

what kind of life does this stupid government want for people?

Do they seriously think that by asking you to widen your range so much that employers aren't just going to hire people who are nearer instead? We all know what the transport system (public or otherwise) in this country is like!

I had my 13 week interview this morning, and they couldn't have been more unhelpful.

The two bits of advice he gave me were to:
    1. Move to London
    2. Remove my degree from my CV

How on earth is this supposed to help me find a job?? Nothing was said on how I was to support myself (or find accomodation) in London whilst looking for work, and apparantly employers are afraid of employing people with degrees at the moment!

And I was also told to be willing to travel 90 minutes one way to find work. If that's what Gordon wants us to do, then he'd better dramatically improve public transport or dramatically reduce road tax, petrol prices etc.

    Laughable.

Sorry you had an unhelpful interview. I had mine on Friday. The advisor was fine with me, and tried her best to give helpful advice, and said I would find somewhere I would slot in eventually. Think it is the luck of the draw who you get, and how they are with you. I'm actually about to sign off, so it didn't really matter to me, but in case anyone else is going for one of these, it might be OK.

I started claiming Cont based JSA on 2 April but I didnt actually sign till 15 April so will my 13 week interview be from the date I started claiming or from my first signing does anyone know ?

I am looking for jobs but have also applied to do an access course starting in September, if I am accepted on the course I should know by the end of June at the latest, should I tell them at my 12/13 week interview that I am starting a 1 year course and I can look for temporary work till then, what should I do ?

    Thanks
