If you have only £15,000 worth of debt you may be able to go for a Debt Relief Order. These are available in April. Ask about it when you talk to one of the debt charities.

  • I am a newbie, so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place.
Has anyone else seen the petition that is trying to prevent new laws that will give further powers to bailiffs - if the law is passed, it appears that private bailiffs will be able to force entry and use 'reasonable' force on householders.

i have just started a benifit claim today for the first time since i left school about 17 yrs ago never thought i see the day this would happen how things can change quite quickly

    Hi Motivate 11,

People before me have all offered good advice so I have nothing more to add. I just wanted to say that there is no shame in claiming benefits. It's your right. What do you think you paid taxes all these years for! And you know, just as things can change for the worse, they can also get better. I hope things go smoothly for you, whatever decision you make. Best of luck!
