    Hi

You keep making very negative comments which disinclines people from helping you.

If you want to stand up for yourself, people will help you.
How am i not standing up for myself?
It's a very negative situation; what else would you like me to say?

Wishface, I have an overdraft with Barclays which is around £3000 now (after they kept adding charges)

There's no way I could pay that, so it has gone to a debt collection agency (after going to Mercers) now. Once they wrote to me, I offered a payment plan in writing, and it was accepted. I found the DCA far easier to deal with than Barclays, at no point have I given a detailed I&E like you have, just a basic one.

Have you written to Barclays and informed them of your mental health issues? In light of the earlier link posted, I wonder whether they may be more lenient.

Good luck, and chin up. You will get this sorted. x
Barclays? Lenient? Fat chance. They've been no help at all.

I've just been sent a termination notice and apparently have to wait up to two weeks for them to get back in touch with me (their recoveries department - i thought they were selling the debt to an outside agency as that's what their letter intimated). Meanwhile they want to charge me 76p interest a day (until the whole thing is sortd) - that's more interest than when the account was open.

I've said to them many times I don't care about closing the account, but this whole mess just drags on and on while they refuse to listen or deal with things. Even after saying they listen to the CCCS who worked out my budget that I sent them.
