Michelin has reputation of being the 'best' all rounder (no pun), as well as spending more £$£$ on research, than all the other brands.

You can also find them discounted, to a similar level, as other premium makes, if you check places like http://www.mytyres.co.uk

When I looked for an alternative to the defective Michelin Pilote Primacy tyres on my car, I searched several online tyre websites including http://www.mytyres.co.uk but as previously posted a local independent garage/MOT Testing Station offered cheaper prices.

I was looking for 4 x 195/55 R15 H tyres & I got a competetive price online & locally BUT! 4 x identical tyres 'V' rated were £4.50 per tyre cheaper. I saved an extra £18.00 by buying the higher speed rated 'V' tyres over the lower 'H' rated.

They are also made in the UK by British workers in a lot of cases - look on the side of the tyre before it is fitted and it will tell you where it was manufactured.;)

I can second the quality of Michelin tyres - I know how they're made, and wouldn't trust my car to run on a patch the size of my palm without trusting the safety of the tyres.:D

p.s. We only drive on Michelins, never do more than 6,000 miles a year, the car sits out on the drive, or at work, and we've never had a problem with this yet.
