The display on my monitor has grey lines across the entire display it is very noticable on a white background,it is like the text has been highlighted.this started last night I have checked the display settings cant see anything wrong.Even the desktop colours seem to be lacking sharpness, any ideas anyone? or is it time for a new monitor.

My patent method with misbehaving CRT monitors is to give them a sharp thump on the top casing. Usually this is done for instances where the whites have gone purple, or some such. Beware -- both your mileage and your monitor may vary!
