So angry - what can I do?

Options
Hi all,

I booked a flight with TC on the 7th Jan and paid for in full with debit card and received confirmation of flight.

Yesterday I got a letter saying I had £300 outstanding.

I phoned today and they said it was a mistake and that they had removed the travel voucher we used.

I get a phone call 1 hour later saying that they cannot book the flight as it is full now and that they can get me a NON-DIRECT flight instead.

Obviously we are really not happy and dont want to accept the other flight and looking at the airline website it is fully booked now.

I am awaiting a call from the legal team as they reckon that there is some small print to say about the flight not being confirmed.

Any ideas what I can do? What to expect?

Thanks

Tell them you know Hannibal, FaceMan, BA and Murdoch.

    Then watch them crumble.....:rotfl:

    Sorry....
Seriously, I would just hold out as long as you can. Don't take their first offer - its THEIR mistake, not yours.

Thats what id do. They have made a change which does not suit you.

You have every right to cancel at no cost.

If you booked a direct, non stop flight, and paid for it, the cancellation is their problem. You may not be able to travel on the original flight if it is full but they should put you on a comparable one, any additioanl expense being theirs, it was their mistake. If they get difficult remind them of case involving Thomson Holidays where they forgot to book seats on BA to Denver for a skiiing holiday and offered indirect flights on United instead. The customer refused the alternatives, got her money back and rebooked on the original flight in Club Class, and sued for £24,000 being the cost of the new tickets, there were 6 or so travelling. The customer won!
