Think they need to be planted in the right soil, as they like very acid soil. Might be better off getting some of the compost from B&Q
  • yes i was just reading that! and it says that as long as the ground is not frozen i can plant them now. so off to B and Q i guess for some compost.

They will be pretty dormant right now, so I'd say go ahead, but yes, use specialist compost (for azaleas, rhododendrons). That was a bargain price. I expect they are quite small plants but they are usually at least £5 each. Good thing you bought two - you need to get them fertilized for fruit.
  • yeah they are really small, i went through the whole shelf of them to pick the biggest ones :D. i dont know what variety they are, just hope they taste nice.

you can mulch them with pine needles and tea leaves from tea bags to help keep the soil acidic.

Arrgghh, I just paid £10 each for 2. Mind you I wanted a specific variety.
I have planted them in large plastic troughs, filled with ericanous compost, and then sunk the lot into the ground.

Just picked up a couple of blueberry plants from Poundland.

One looks ok, the other, hmm, not sure about. Was with an old lady so didn't check plants before buying!
    Nice to save.
