Zelah Green, Queen of Clean
Vanessa Curtis (Egmont, 978 14052 40536)
Zelah Green is a Cleanaholic – her obsessive compulsive disorder rituals rule her life. After her father disappears, she’s sent to Forest Hill, where she meets Alice, Lib, Caro and Sol, who all have their own ‘little problems’. Despite the serious theme, this complex story is written in a humorous way, and you really care about Curtis’ characters as they cope with the dramas surrounding their lives, and develop lasting friendships. The book would be particularly suitable for more able Y6 girls, looking for a challenging read that deals with some adult themes.
Egmont are offering ten lucky Literacy Time PLUS readers the chance to win a copy of Zelah Green, Queen of Clean. Simply tick the title in the giveaways box. Alternatively, email your name, school name and school address to us, clearly stating which offer you are entering for, or post your details to Zelah Green offer, Literacy Time PLUS, Villiers House, Clarendon Avenue, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 5PR.
