Families and their Faiths (Evans Brothers)
Frances Hawker/Bruce Campbell
Families and their Faiths is a set of four books introducing cultures and faiths around the world. Each focuses on a child and is narrated in story form by a grandparent. The books are bright and appealing and the language simple yet informative. Readers will engage with the excitement of the children, as each family prepares for a key religious festival, and understand how faith is central to their lives. I used the Thailand book with Lower KS2 children as part of a unit on Buddhism. They really enjoyed ‘meeting’ a child from the faith and finding out about their day-to-day life.
