Settled for less than half - can i reclaim the rest now i'm in financial difficulties

Hi there,

I did a claim back in 2007 to HSBC for £1942.70 worth of bank charges for past 6 years. They sent me cheque for £1000 in full and final settlement.

I accepted this cheque as I thought it would be the most I would get, having read the stories on here and spoken to a number of poeple who have also done a claim, it seems that I should have argued and held out for more, maybe even the full amount.

Is it too late now - i signed a piece of paper saying I accept this amount in full and final settlement but now I am in serious financial difficulties and could really do with getting the remaining amount back.

Does anyone know any wording i can use to re-open my case with HSBC?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You accepted in full and final settlement. There is nothing you can do in respect of those charges.

I don't suppose you would like it if a company came back to you asking for more once you had handed over money to them as a Full and Final settlement. There would be uproar and rightly so. Sorry - I know it's not what you wanted to hear.

On the other hand, there is nothing to stop you claiming any new charges incured since 2007
