Just had to share our fantastic service from Churchill.
My husband had a car accident a week last Sunday. Just him and a boulder in the road involved. No damage to the body just smashed under the car and ceased the engine. Rang Churchill and they agreed over the phone he had a valid claim and the car was taken away Monday morning. By Thursday a valuation and offer made - A £1000 more than was offered as a px 6 months prior and more than book value. By Friday cheque was in the post.
We had taken gap insurance out with VW when we bought the car this was due to expire in April so very lucky in a way the accident happened now and not a few months later.
This is again happening just as quickly. We originally paid £9000 for the car and Churchill are giving us £3875. the gap insurance is paying out to top us up to £9k.
So highly urge everyone to have a gap insurance policy. Its a £150 well spent.
Churchill have also rang to ask if we want to arrange the car to be disposed of. My father is a mechanic so we are arranging him to collect it and will be dismantling the car and selling for spares - other than the engine it is immaculate - so we might actually make a profit on this bit of bad luck. Madness!
