Vistaprint Scam

BY THEIR OWN VERBAL ADMISSION, Vistaprint are scamming, then refunding, money to angry customers who may have been debited for a long time without agreeing to this.

This is what happens:

-you go onto their nice site and order some nice free business cards, and pay a nice little bit for an upgrade on the cards
-you go onto a page that says 'want free £10 cashback?' just to investigate
-you decide not to go on, as they want you to join a club
CLUBPREM
VPREWARDS
for which privilege you pay 9.95 a month
-you think that's it, I did not fill in any forms, or give my account details, delete that webpage, end of story.

VERY DEFINITELY NOT SO...

Going through bank statements for the end of Jan tax returns, my accountant and I notice I have been debited 9.95 per month, since February 2008, by CLUBPREM AND AND AND VPREWARDS.

On phoning my bank, I am told as it is a debit card, they cannot refund. They also tell me MY DETAILS WERE 'PASSED ON' TO CLUBPREM AND VPREWARDS BY VISTAPRINT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

I phone Vistaprint, who grovel, apologise profusely and promise to refund this money immediately, without a word of denial. I ask if they have many people complaining and the very efficient and polite sales person ''says, yes maam, many people complain about this''.

To add insult to injury, when you phone the UK number for Vistaprint you get minutes of bla menu, before being given a second number to ring, with more minutes of bla before realising you are not going to be able to speak to anybody at all because you are now being told to email them - no item on menu to enable you to talk to anyone! Second lot of theft - from bank account, and on telephone O845 number, premium rate.

I don't think this is a scam, more like opportunistic selling. I bet you'd have found some kind of disclaimer if you'd looked at the smallprint. They repaid the cash as soon as you complained, so you're no worse off - they could have been far more difficult.
How come you're getting £240 refunded if they took less than £10 a month for 11 months?

Lets face it, you don't get owt for nowt. It's very frustrating, I agree, but you'll be wiser next time (plus you've made sure that I would never entertain using Vistaprint - so thank you).

When finding out yet another INVOLVED company name, ADAPTIVE AFFINITY LTD, phone 08701 432 343, you call them, to be told to wait (a long time) as 'all our agents are busy' - third theft, more money to them on an 0870 number...

    0845 aren't premium rate numbers.

It relies on people not reading things properly. There's a massive thread about it : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=202892
  • Andrew Millet, is this the same Andrew Millet who owns wisteria account; wisteria chartered accounts? I do believe that this is the same Andrew Millet; as both Adaptive Affinity in it's many guises, Highstreetmax (high street max, Premierclub, clubprem (premier club) etc as they all appear to operate from the same premises based in Edgware. The Cavendish house offices (Adaptive Affinity Ltd, Wisteria chartered Accountant Ltd
    Cavendish House
    369 Burnt Oak Broadway
    Edgware Middlesex
HA8 5AW)I know that this is a large office block with many companies in the building, but it seems like too much of a coincidence that the directors of both wisteria chartered accounts and Adaptive Affinity Ltd would have the same name, and operate out of the same building!

How many other business does Andrew Millet run? How many other business is Andrew Millet a director of?

If Andrew Millet is an accountant as well as everything people online are accussing him of,are small businesses really in good hands? Andrew Millet offers advice on business plans and financial controls. Does he also offer advise on shafting people as well?

I'm just guessing as I don't know anything for sure, but I think that this man and his business interests are worth investigating further.:money:
Until then small business in need of a local accountancy firm, may need to beware of Wisteria chartered accountant in Edgware as they may be linked to Adaptive Affinty!

How come you expect people to read through all this - after all, you clearly never bothered to read through all the Vistaprint small-print, did you?
  • Outrageous company. I ordered business cards which were in fact very expensive from Vista prints. These guys shared my information with Club Prem and VP rewards, whoever they are, without my understanding or knowledge. People watch out for these illicit actions. I am instructing my bank to investigate this fraudulent activity.
    Jack.

So why did you order cards if you new they were expensive? Looks like another case of someone being too lazy to read things before they buy.
