Capital one changing rate??

For those of you wanting to dispose of your credit card, it would be childish of me to suggest that you over-pay whatever balance you have on the card by a few pence. Then, they'll either have to send you a check for around 5p or continue to maintain your account (with the requisite balance statements) ad infinitum.0

I closed my Cap 1 account last month, but yesterday received a letter informing me the interest rate had increased to 34.9%, what a buch of thieves, I am well rid of them.:mad:0

You have been quoted in The Guardian along with Paintbrush! http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2009/jan/29/capital-one-interest-rate-rises
From the same article
The Capital One spokeswoman said she believed no customer would suffer a rate increase of more than 6.94%
I think Capital One spokespeople could do with a lesson in 'Simple Mathematics' or maybe 'How to tell the truth'.
I don't have a degree in Mathematics however when I last went to school (I know it was quite some time ago) 29.88 - 14.5 = 15.38 now that is nowhere near 6.94, that would test any ones belief !!!
On the other hand the spokesperson could just be telling porky pies and actually she is quite good at maths !!! :rotfl:0 -
I have one card that I pay off monthly except for major emergency purchases. A new CD coming out is NOT a major emergency, either! No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
