Working under those conditions is crushing. Its a shame that she refuses to take it further as she sees it that it may compromise further employment. Its shocking and not humane, and I bet this will happen a lot now, especially to women in the workforce..Helzbelz has been given a good offer..in comparison..good luck.
I suspect they'll have a fair few unfair dismissal claims to deal with."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
i didint think i was entitled to the £4.5k as my son isnt yet in education and the baby obviously isnt. do you know if that's right or not fairplay?"it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.

£4.5k per dependant regardless of age, if your redundancy date was after your new baby was born you wud get £9k (you can choose a date think the most furthest away is june 28th) Also Training grant is to enable you to have the option to retrain, no conditions with it though so i'm guessing its hard cash.0

well that makes it look even more appealing. i had assumed the grant would be payable to the training body but even at that its good."it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.

Yes if you get past 25weeks before taking redundancy then they pay you smp, if not then you can claim maternity allowance which is only a bit less than smp but is not taxable whereas you will pay tax and ni on smp.
What is this grant that has been mentioned? I have jus recently been made redundant and am 30weeks pregnant and have a son of 2.0 -
fairplay is refering to the dependants grant that my company is offering, im not sure if it is generally offered in redundancy packages but you should definitely find out."it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.

Ah right that sounds good for you though doesnt it, i very much doubt my company offered anything like that I had to fight for the absolute minimum that I was entitled to they are a nightmare!0 -
yes it makes it a very good offer, i didnt think i was entitled to it as ds is 3 and only in preschool, but if what fairplay says is right then i think i will definitely take the offer if i get it. there is a helpline we can ring to ask questions so i must do that tomorrow when im back in."it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.

Yep it definately does sound like a very good offer in comparison to what other folk have been offered. But it all really depends on what your situation is how long you can last on this money etc etc etc.
Look into everything before you go for it eg: What benefits you can get after you have left, what the job market is like, what debts you have . . .consider everything before taking the leap.
Just wanted to add . . . think laterally as well as simply how will I find a new job. alot of folk have adopted the attitude of starting afresh . . .maybe with a new career, training opportunity . . .new way of life. . .check out all the options
