Question re. claiming refund on a CC

Hi ... wonder if anyone can help ... I bought over £1800 worth of goods from EmpireDirect on 10th Jan which should have been delivered the following week. There's been no delivery and as you know they've now gone into administration. I called the Credit Card company on the day the news broke and they said I must wait 30 days to give them a chance to fulfill the order. Yesterday I saw a notice on Empire's website saying that following legal advice they will not be fulfilling any further orders and to contact CC companies for refund. When I called MBNA again today they said I must still wait 30 days before I can start the procedure of reclaiming. They said its because the company hasn't actually gone into liquidation. Is this standard procedure? The first payment is due next week and I'm nervous about whether I will actually get this money refunded.
