United National Bank is offering 5.00% for a minimum investment of £5,000.00 but it never seems to appear in any of the comparison tables available on the internet.
Is there a particular reason for this omission?

As they seem to be backed by the FSA any investment should be reasonably secure, but as a bank that appears to be backed by Pakistani banks I think I'd be a bit wary of anything emanating from that region. They seem to aim for customers from the Islamic community so perhaps if you are not of that faith it might be a bit difficult to access their products (racism doesn't seem to be an issue nowadays as long as it's not anti-Islam, anti anythingelse doesn't seem to matter). With the financial situation being so precarious at the moment I think I would stay well clear until someone could convince to me otherwise.Age & Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth & Enthusiasm !!

It looks like 5.06% for a minimum of £1 to me.
Many people might be put off by a 3 month notice account, with a variable rate, though, although the Banking Code protects against excessive rate reductions.

If all of that seems OK, I don't see any reason not to invest £50k. It is a good rate.0 -
