I'm trying to calculate how much I owe BG, can anyone
help me figure out how to calculate 1,479 units of gas
(from last meter reading to today’s meter reading)
I'm on the DD monthly tariff. Many thanks.
Link to the current rates.

Your last bill should show you how to convert the meter reading to kwh then use figures on the house site
roughly I think it's 46292 kwh
so 1143 x 2.298p
and 45149 x 1.525p
= £26.27 + £688.52 = £714.790 -
Super Woby.
I assume the calculation doesn't include VAT @ 5%?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I think it does, the figures on the house.co.uk site showed prices including VAT0

For anyone interested
ENERGY "kWh" = (VOLUME "cubic metres" * CALORIFIC VALUE) / 3.6

I know have this formula added to my "subscribed threads"0 -
Don't take that as gospel, phone up and press the options to speak to a CSA. Ask them to input the reading and produce as bill. If they say no just mention energywatch and giggle as you take control of the situation

Mmmmm I tested the formula on the current bill and it worked, obviously its slightly more complicated as we have two rates. And simply applied the new reading to the calculations to work the price from a staggering £75.00 down to £27.970

I would just phone the gas board, tell them your reading, and get them to calculate it for you-saves the headache!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
