A&L £100 refused

I just got a letter from A&L saying that I was not entitled to the £100 (its been 11 weeks now) because I didn't have any DDs from my old account. I had signed up for the accoutn switching service, and for them to close my old account, but I remember calling them up at the time for some reason, when they advised me to just close my old account myself since it would be quicker, so I closed it and transferred over the balance (£90 or so).
So I had signed up for the switching service, but
a) My old account didn't have any DD or SO
b) it was A&L who advised me to just transfer money over and close my account myself
So should I dispute it, or are they within their rights to refuse the £100?

They are within their rights I'm afraid.
One of the conditions was that you had to transfers DD's or SO's to qualify. Closing the old account was an option, but not essential to recieve the £100.0
