If you can multiply by 15,000 one unit price to four decimal places add it to 4,000 times a second five significant figure number take off 9.7% and it to a similar calculation for your other fuel then divide by twelve ; do this for a dozen other tariffs to compare; and do all this in your head then good luck to you!

... but if you are a very high user then, yes, a table of Tier 2 prices would be useful as the relative contributory complications of the tomfoolery diminishes in significance the more you use.

To be honest Kim, I've always thought of us as lowish users: we use gas central heating (set at 19 degrees) for about 4 hours per day; I cook a meal with gas every day and we all have a daily electric shower. The house is a 3 bedroom semi and it's insulated to the hilt. The boiler's newish and the windows are double glazed.

I've started repeating my mother's mantra of "put another jumper on if you're cold".

Is is unreasonable to expect to pay less than £100 per month do you think?
