Who in their right mind would buy a new car anyway? Other than motorbility and Avis of course.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

I take it you were not one of the clowns on here that think intest rates should go up

Now? No though from a purely selfish perspective I'd like to see a better return on my savings and I think that a higher return would incentivise people to save rather than spend and take on debt.

What is beyond doubt is that interest rates should have been a good 1-2 percentage points higher, possibly even more. We might not be having this conversation now had that been the case.

I still like my £461 car purchased from ebay nearly 18 months ago......

I have only ever had finance once for a mode of transport, a brand new motorcycle way back in 1988, a fair bit cheaper than finance for a car though!

Some days I think I would like a brand new car, never had one but then with 2 autistic kids, it's probably not advisable.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I would agree although sometimes it is a neccessity..like in my case.

    * It really is by the way, disabled kids can't quite walk the near on 4 miles to school.

With the state of public transport in this country it is often simply just 'essential' for a lot of people that want to get to and from work.

It's Capitalist greed gone berserk that has caused this mess. How can anyone possibly blame this on the government? Had it not been for a good old socialist buyout where would we be now. ;-)
Anyway, my point was merely that both the Tories and Labour are much of the same thing now. One moved to the left and the other to the right and met in the middle. Whoever it is they have a job on their hands ;-) Personally I don't think it matters much.

The failure to regulate investment & high street banks is Browns baby. He designed & oversaw the system that failed.
I can understand your 2nd point, my aguement is that a fresh cabinet of whatever colour may see new opportunities and be less tied down by old decisions

I just love asking 'Have you stopped beating your wife - answer yes or no' type questions :D
