There has been no talk about them reducing their tax cut from fuel!!!0 -
Sat thinking how we maybe able to save more money if your driving on your hols, or working away from home,
Where ever you are going, try to find out the local paper that has the petrol 3p discount while your there, I you are lucky use that coupon to get home.usually most Fuel stations on a journey are expensive, good luck,clearvisor0 -
Not that I want to defend the Govt, but they did kindof reduce the tax we pay on petrol and diesel when they cut the VAT to 15%, as the standard rate of VAT is payable on these, as well as fuel duty. Gets easily swallowed by these increases tho.0

No, fuel duties were increased to make up for the difference. Typical. They kept it fairly quiet though to ensure the masses didnt get to hear about it....0 -

No they didn't. It was made perfectly clear at the time, at least to those who bother to read a national newspaper or listen to national news.0 -
Just been across border at Lifford, 84.5 pence per litre diesel and 91.8 pence for U/L!
Locally its, 94 for U/L and up to 104.9 for diesel!0 -
Tesco in the North West are still 91.1 UL, this went up from 88.9 a few weeks ago, strangly around the time the 5p per litre vouchers started again:rolleyes:
Still can't complain, they are the cheapest in town, only problem now is having to queue for petrol again:eek:

So this means that in January 2010 as long as the increases throughout this year (2009) the VAT is going back to 17.5% so there will be 2.5% increase at what ever the price will be!!
Its Joke!!!0
