Fuel Prices

Just noticed this morning that Sainsbury’s in Craigavon have increased both Petrol and Diesel by 3 pence over the past week??

Is the price of oil still not decreasing?

Anyone any thoughts?

  • Up in Randalstown from 82.9 to 87.9 this week :(
  • Forgot to put prices in!!!

    Petrol 84.9 to 87.9

    Diesel 95.9 to 98.9

I thought this was a recession we were in? Are the fuel companies trying to capitalise on the Irish economy?

Crude oil is priced in $DOLLARS which has become very strong currency against sterling recently, that will have a big bearing on prices and may explain the rise

I'm glad someone else noticed this, I got petrol in Sainsburys in Craigavon on Tuesday at 83.9p, when I was passing it by on Saturday I noticed it was 86.9p but when I was asking colleagues nobody had noticed, really thought I was doting

  • I understand about the currency aspect but how much is the Government making from fuel???

Should the Government not be trying to help the ordinary people? Will people be able to afford the running of vehicles if they have no work ??
  • Register with www.petrolprices.com. Put in your e-mail address and postcode and they will send you updates of 5 best Stations in your area.. You can slate Sainsbury's in Craigavon but it has been consistantly the cheapest 95% of the time from what I've seen over the last year

Mind, if you live on one side of Belfast Lough, they'll quite possibly want you to drive to the other side of it to buy your petrol...

Earlier this week I happened to be across the border and found diesel at the equivalent of 81.2p per litre.
With prices creeping up again here and sterling climbing off the floor it looks as if the cross-border run is now worthwhile again for diesel drivers at least.

Price in Carrick Tesco is 87.9p but they have 5p off per litre with £50 spend instore again. Every little helps. (Sorry, didn't notice diesel price.)
  • Diesel prices now at 100.9 per litre in quite a number of places. Seems to be like stealth, oil prices are at $34 per barrell so why on earth are petrol and diesel going up. Is no one else noticing this???
