Do I claim Car Insurance?

I was dropping a friend off yesterday and parked behind a BMW who had his engine swithced on but was stationary. There were zig zag lines behind me so I parked on the single red line. The BMW in front of me, without looking reversed into my car. I don't think he saw me but thats not the point. My car shook and as I got out of the car so did he. He saw there was no visible damage and then drove off without saying sorry or even speaking to me. Infact he didn't even acknowledge me.

As there is no visible damage to the car, does anyone know if there could be something wrong with my car or not? I'd appreciate it if anyone from a similar situation could advise.

There could be. Your car had to accept the impact, and this could mean there is hidden damage eg. your bumper having done its job may need replacing (depends on whether it contains any crumple zones internally), or other body geometry may be out of true.

Get it checked out at a reputable bodyshop before you forget this incident.

I'd take your car to a garage to be sure there is no damage, obtain a written report, take photos and ask your friend to write a statement if they witnessed the incident as it is possible the other man tries to make an injury claim against your policy if you got your registration number or possible staged incident to do just this.
