Still not recieved my item, grr

Hiya,
I bought something off eBay last Monday, seller had good feedback. The auction stated items paid with PayPal would be sent off the next day at the latest. I got the item on BIN, and payed straight away. I expected it to be here by Thurs at the latest. On Friday it had still not arrived. I emailed the seller; he said he will check with the courier. I got an email today saying they item has been returned to him and I refused delivery! Last week we had nothing delivered at all. I made sure someone was in the house all the time. Also we live in a close community so if I WERE out a neighbour would take the parcel for me. So what can I do, I know we no one where refused delivery on the item. The postage was a lot, I actually can't afford to pay for the postage again. The seller hadn't replied to my email telling him nothing was refused yet, I only just sent it so I am being a bit hasty.

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Double check the address, and get the seller to check with the courier company where they attempted to deliver it, and why a card wasn't left.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thanks, Yeah i have double checked the address, its the right one.
  • I would ask for proof that item was sent and returned. Maybe a tracking number.

I know the majority sellers are good honest people on EBay but there are a few bad ones and in the past i had almost the identical situation, it turned out the seller had said the same to numerous buyers when he hadnt sent any items out on time and was their excuse for not doing so!

BUT it maybe genuine and if you are adamant that you hadnt missed a delivery and no card was left then the seller needs to take up with the courier company as there must be some sort of record on paper of what happened.

I would insist on them giving you the tracking number so you can check for yourself. This sounds like excuses to me. Most couriers will attempt 3 deliveries before returning the parcel. If you don't get any response after 7 days I would open an INR dispute with paypal.
  • Thanks to all of you. The seller has promised delivery on wed. If it doesn't come then i will take it further.
  • If it was sent with a courier there should be some tracking. Though from experience it may not be up to date or correct- recent FedEx and TNT experiences, however in this position I would still send the details and explain it.

If it has been sent out and returned, the seller will have been charged £5'ish for the return, plus the cost of re-sending it so if they telling the truth it won't be cheap for them.

Just on delivery time, most things with couriers to U.K mainland are delivered next day, however it is not uncommon for parcels to be miss-routed or go off the radar for a few days. But in over 2500 parcels with DHL we haven't touch wood had a single loss.

Seller prob accidentally sent it to wrong address, or forgot to sent it, has now realised their mistake and is sending it to you.
