    Hi srh1994

By the sounds of it, i think it is best to write a letter explaining the above circumstances to Lloyds customer services ASAP and hope for the best they will agree to refund the charges in FULL given your circumstances. Recently i have become a customer of Lloyds opening a new current account. However I have noticed that all the transactions i had using the card does NOT update for 2-3 working days. Even if i go online to see my available balance, it does not show the ACTUAL balance. I have called Lloyds about this and they said that it is my responsibility to memorise transactions and to ensure that i do not go overdrawn. HSBC does show the actual balance immediately after a transaction has been made. It seems they have a system in place that can trap their customers into thinking they have enough money and withdrawn money, only later the customer realise what has happened and find themselves seriously overdrawn with high charges. I do feel this is not ethical, so i have now secured a 250 o/d in case this happens to me. It is a sly trick to make money through bank charges so to everyone who is reading this...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Best of luck in getting the charges refunded in FULL. I recommend you not to accept their offer and demand to have the charges applied in FULL!
