Removing a financial association

I have recently gone BR and would like to have my partner removed from any financial association we may have on any credit files.
Firstly how do i do this?
Does this cost anything?
What addresses etc can i contact the 3 credit reference agencies on?
Are there any letter template ideas?
Many thanks :T

sorry i meant i have recently gone bankrupt
Many thanks for any advice0 -
I don't know what happens in the case of bankruptcy, but when I divorced my ex, the credit reference agency sent out a leaflet with the letter to write to disassociate me from him. This was then able to be viewed by any company viewing my credit file from then on.0

so can i write to the credit reference agencies to tell them we wish to be dissasociated? If so does anyone have the addresses of the credit reference agencies?0

I dont know the address but I recently signed up on Experians Creditexpert.com website. They do a free months trial (Im sure if you search the forums you can find out about cashbacks for the credit ref sites aswell) which gives you access to your credit report (But importantly not your credit score. This cost a seperate £5.95, but you dont need this to change anything on your report anyway). Once youve signed up, check out the financial association/aliases tab and it will tell you who you are financially linked to. If your partner is on there, then simply fill out an online form which you can find in the FAQ section, and submit it. Its all explained how to do it, so no need to worry about not understanding it. As i said before, to log in and view your report is free for a month, but they do ask for your credit/debit/bank details when you sign up, so they "Make it easy for you to continue your subscription"!!! Just remember to cancel before the month is up, or they will charge you.
As for Equifax, and callcredit, im not sure how it works, but I assume they must have websites of a simialr ilk.
hope this helps.0 -
UPDATE
Just been onto Equifax website, and as assumed they also have a 30 day free trial period and then you pay extra for your credit score if you want to. The website is a little less user friendly than Experians Creditexpert, but easy enough once youve read the "how to" bits.
As for Call credit, they are quite the opposite on their purchase policy. It would appear that you have to pay £4 a month to subscribe, with the money taken quarterly. So when you sign up, they take £12 from you straight away. That does, however, give you access to view your credit score three times free of charge.
I should explain for those that dont know (Because I didnt until I registered) Your credit report is the information that is held about you, i.e. Personal details, credit accounts you have, and financial associations, and addresses you are or have been linked to, etc., but your credit score is the numerical value that gauges whether you are a credit risk. This number can be from 0 - 999, with a higher number meaning you are less of a risk. This is what Experian and Equifax charge you extra to see, but as I say, you dont need this to view your file and ask for changes to be made.0 -
when we were chased at our address for the debts of a previous resident, we filled out a financial disassociation form so that we wouldn't be linked to him and have to deal with the harassment! i think it was just downloaded from the website of one of the credit reference agencies.:happyhear0

Yeh, sorry about that Geministar, I should have thought of that really. That was a stupid mistake on my behalf. Apologies.0
