Not sure if this is the right place to post .......

I just found out that EDF is reading a different meter to the one i thought was mine. Is there anyway I can know for certain which of the meters is connected to my flat - can meters be switched off? I am quite worried that if they have been reading the wrong meter they will send an even higher bill

Turn off all of your electricity appliances - everything. Even better, switch off at the consumer box.
Your meter will be the one that is stopped.
Switch something on. Something heavy usage like a kettle would be ideal. Your meter is the one that is now rotating. Do it a couple of times to avoid any possible coincidence with someone else's meter. Quite easy to identify your meter this way.

established EDF is reading wrong meter. the meter they should be reading is almost 1.5 times higher than the one they were reading. which is weird considering all flats in the development are the same size and new build so i thought they would be economic. could the meter possibly have a fault
