HELP Parking eye "Parking Charge Notice"

Hi all hope you are all ok. I could do with some help with a problem i have. I have recently been using the train to work and have parked on a local B&Q carpark. I checked the carpark quickly upon parking there and didnt see any signs. I have parked there everyday for over a week and i have had a phone call from the other half saying there was a letter for me. I asked her to open it and it was a Parking charge notice from parking eye. My biggest worry now is i have parked there everyday and are even parked there today. The letter that come though was for my first day of parking there so i am expecting lots more to come though. The leter says they have photographic evidence showing my times etc. Have i got any ways of getting out of this? I really cant stump 6 maybe 7 £80 fines.

All help would be much appericated.

Thanks in advance.

Matt.

Probably timed as you enter/leave the Car Park-have you been back to check signs?
  • Yeah it is timed as the letter gives the times. I have got to pick me car up from there tonight so i expect another one for today but i work 50 miles away from where me car is parked so i cant move it. Ill have a look around tonight for signs etc. Going put something over me reg on the way out so it cant get me tonight ha ha.

    Any help, any ideas?

    They are not enforceable.

Don't pay. Don't acknowledge them in any way. They are relying on you to just pay up. They will threaten increased charges, court action etc. but it's all just scare tactics.

Do a google search for "fightback forums" if you are wanting more information.
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

  • Cheers guys for all this information you have provided, what i great website this is,

No doubt I will get jumped on for saying this. But you have a darn cheek just thinking you can park for free all day in somebodies private car park. It is because of people doing just that, that has caused the owners of these car parks to use the services of these objectionable parking control companies.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I've got one too. For parking in a private car park controlled by Parking Eye. I overstayed my welcome. And have no intention of paying. Because I had every right to be there. But why should I need to tell Parking Eye that? It has nothing to do with them. It's between me and the occupier of the land.

Parking eye "PCN"s are a load of nonsense anyway. They refer to offences, and tell you the RK is responsible for payment. All pretty much in contravention of the new consumer regulations, I think.

If the owners of these car parks cared enough about this probem then they should down the right channels to secure a legal remedy to this, and not employ scheister companies to use scare tactics as a way of making illegitamate money.

Im not saying I agree with parking on private property consistently, but on-one deserves to be bullied into thinking they owe money where they dont!
