CSA Mistakes and excuses

Hi Feline.
I do understand, I've been dealing with the CSA for 5 years now, never had payments, ex owes £35k and like you I understand the banging your head against the wall feeling
I had a rant about my situation on this forum a few months ago and it was suggested that I write to my M.P. Although I was skeptical about it, with nothing to loose I wrote ( via email) and got a call from my M.P's secretary within 20 minutes!
I wrote from here:-www.writetothem.com
My M.P has been great and the CSA have done more to peruse the debt in the last few months than they have ever done before. My case is now with Legal Enforcement and if my ex does not pay in next few months he will find himself languishing at the pleasure of her majesty!!:D
Good luck and best wishes to you.
Wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen! Despite their grand claims on their website about sending people to jail, removing passports, driving licences etc in my experience they do SFA! They are the most disorganised group of people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with and as has been said on here I truly believe they only go after the easy targets and don't try with the die hard "don't want to pay won't ever pay" as it is way too much trouble for very little gain - it doesn't help their targets so no point wasting effort on it - sod the children that are suffering as a result of their absent father/mother refusing to pay!0 -
Feline_friendly wrote: »Thanks for the reply markeymark....but do you know what? I have read loads of threads on this part of the forum and qiute frankly i dont think my MP will help really.....my ex doesnt want to pay and going by what i have read i would spend too much time getting angry and stressed about it...all for what £20 -£80 a month the £20 more like if my ex keeps changing his circumstances like he has. Some of the posts on here qiute frankly scare the heck out of me and just shows how awful and badly managed the CSA are.
Thanks to all who have helped me.
im sorry to hear you feel that way feline_friendly, i do not get why some NRP's seem to try every dodge in the book to pay for their kids!
Some people often get the impression that if CSA involved then the NRP automatically is tryin their hardest not to pay
Very frustrating and angry, but thats the world we live in, some people have no morals or conscience
good luck in your case0 -
You've hit the nail on the head there. The gestapo are so stupid and useless that if anything is in the slightest bit complex, they spike it and go back to persecuting the blameless.Feline_friendly wrote: »I sometimes feel that unless the ex pays without any problems or moans, they really cant be bothered with you.
I have little sympathy for people who deliberately go out of their way to evade legitimate, sensible and morally defensible maintenance but every sympathy for anyone, PWC or NRP who is being hounded, cheated, tricked or in any other way screwed around by the gestapo. That's why I refer to them in that way; it helps to remind me, and I hope others, of the stature of the organisation.

Thank you Markymark..i will just let it chug along...every week my ex goes further into debt, but at the rate he was assessed at it wont go into stupid amounts like some cases on here. Ill contact the CSA every now and then just to bump things up...maybe in the future i will get payments..who knows. I work hard for a living as does my now husband..so my kids get what they need from me. My ex although has managed so far to dodge payments is the loser in all this as he has missed out on 2 fantastic kids growing who are now in there early teens, i havnt :-)
For me it's just not worth getting stressed and angry over....and i do so feel for every PWC and NRP who have been poo'ed on by the CSA. I wish everyone luck there.
Mr Green Genes yes i am my username :-)0 -
Isn't it interesting that since the 'new' system lots of us have started to get issues with csa, been using them since 1999 and its only since last year when they added csa 2 did things start to go wrong.
I too have been told that a i have had an overpayment and will take that at £5 per month, £30 overpayment apparently!!! the amount i have received has never changed since the last time they told me it was going up (about 2 years ago).
and they keep insisting that i go direct to my ex husband for money...
I think we have a failing (we knew that already) sinking ship, and i doubt csa will be around for much longerLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
they spend millions on these computer systems but it doesn't work - as soon as a member of staff hits a problem they blame the computer system....if I had a pound for every time an operator said 'it's a flaw in the computer system' to me......:rolleyes:0
-
The excuses i always got were:-
caseworker who is working on it isnt there today/on holiday/busy on the phone/not in yet
systems are down
cant access your page to read what is happening
computer fault
and the final 1 was Long term system error!
I was on CSA1 from 1996..the year it came out...and my ex was able to get assessed at £0...right up until December '07 when he was last assessed...then i was advised to go onto CSA2...which i did and to start with was told i should get £50/week...now he's got it to £21 though the systems say it should be £5/week and couldnt get the arrears on.......which is why it went into error. Confused??? I am....
Anyway...i am fighting a losing battle with the CSA and an ex who will do anything not to pay for his 2 kids.0 -
I can assure you that there are major computer problems - that is the truth. Unfortunately the Government don't have the backbone to scrap it and start all over - even though it would actually be cheaper in the long run to do this!! EDS have got them over a barrel and they can't or won't do anything about it!0

I know there are faults but why do they insist on blaming everything on the 'system'?
I submitted my complaint in Sept 08 - with some simple questions requiring simple answers - they wrote to me in Dec 08 to say they were experiencing technical difficulties when trying to process my case. So, does this mean it takes 3 months for an operator to pick up my letter and access my file?
Funny thing is, they wrote today to say that the technical issues are resolved - and they still haven't answered my original questions
TOTALLY USELESS
They need to replace the staff as well as the computers !0 -
Because that is what is causing the problems!0
