Job Seekers Help

Me and my partner are looking to go on job seekers as we were both made redundant.
My partner has not paid enough national insurance contributions.
Would this affect our claim?

Unless you and your partner have over £16000 in savings you will both get something, but the actual amount could be different.0

Anyfreebies you don't seem to know what you are talking about!
To the OP, how do you know that your partner has not paid enough NI if you've not yet made a claim.
The amount of means tested JSA you would be entitled to would depend on whether one or both of you get JSA based on NI, the amount the government say a couple without children can live on is currently £94.95, so if only one of you is entitled to JSA based on NI then you will get £60.50 NI based and this will be made up to the £94.95 with Income based JSA. If both of you were entitled based on NI you would get £60.50 each but would need to make a claim seperately. Any Income based JSA will be affected by any redundancy payout you might receive over £6000 (between you)
I've assumed you are both over the age of 25, good luck in looking for a new job."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

If anyone has over £16000 in savings and haven't made enough NI contributions to qualify for Contribution Based JSA, then they can't get any JSA. If you have over £6000 in savings and don't qualify for Contribution based JSA then you get a reduced amount of Income Based JSA.0 -
Thanks for advice. I am 24 and my partner is 20.
All in all, would we get something?CC £1700/£1477 HSBC Acc. £-1750/£400Barclay Acc. £-2009/£-1280 / A & L Acc. £-908 £0!! / Finance £-1008 £-590 / Loan £8000 £8000(JANUARY 09 DEBT/ NOW)0 -
You will be fine, yes. As a couple, assuming you have no savings over £6000 and no other income, you should get £94.95 per week.Gone ... or have I?0
