Car insurance void?

Hi guys

Looking for a bit of advice please on the following.

Last week I was involved in a car crash, where stupidly I rear ended another motorist. Fortunatly no one was hurt. I accept that I was totally to blame for the incident and me and the other driver swapped insurance details. Anyhow, to cut a long story short my car is a total write off and the other drivers is the same. Having spoken to my insurance company on several occasions, something has come to my attention that I honestly was not aware of. In October last year, I had 6 points put on my license and failed to inform the insurance company of this. I was under the impression, foolishly that I did not need to inform the insurance company until the renewel date (March 2009). My concern now is that the insurance company will void my claim. Can anyone advise if my insurance policy is voided:

Will I have to pay the full amount of liability to the other motorist I hit?

Would I be classed as an uninsured driver at the time of the accident and therefore be subject to further penalty points and a fine from police?

If I'm honest, my main concern is not for my car but for the persons car I hit
Any advise or help greatly appreciated

Thanks

They are likely to treat it as unintentional non-disclosure. providing they offer cover to those with 6 points, you will be required to pay the additional premium that you would have paid had you declared them from the point in question.

Your fear will be if they treat it as intentional non-disclosure. Then they can refuse.

Firstly, than you for your info and response.

When you say this, do you mean they can refuse to pay out all together or they would not cover anything for me but would cover the other persons car I hit?

    Thanks
