I phoned the other day, after reading on here that the ISA Direct pays more interest than the other. The lady I spoke to was very helpful, changed the account there and then to the ISA Direct, and have since recieved written confirmation. I expected to have to trundle into town to go into a branch with my passbook, but no! Excellent. :T
ETA: I used this phone number: "Phone 08457 26 36 46, 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturday" (I know I should have dialed a free-phone number, but I was at work, so it was free anyway!

Yeah but you get some people who do not use online
I'm not only on about people using this site - the book one still exists. and some people prefer it cause they can deposit and withdraw at counter , but therefore less interest
I know what one I'd prefer, and which one i've got0
