Budget for moving out of parents house

I would like to ask for your advice on budgeting for what I am going to have to budget for after moving out. I am currently living with my parents so only pay rent.

I want to budget for living with my girlfriend and having no idea what my bills and council tax and things like that are going to cost. I was hoping if anyone could throw some figures at me.

We are planning to rent a small place on our own in cornwall. Can anyone suggest what my monthly outgoings will be.

Well I live on my own in a 2 bed terraced house and this is what I pay each month...

    Council Tax - £54 (I get a single person discount of 25%)
    Electric - £25
Gas - £50 (only 'cos it's cold, far less in summer!)
    TV Licence - £12
    Water - £16
    Buildings/Contents insurance -£22
    BT - £10.95
    Groceries - £100

You also have to factor in any other costs you may have, such as internet access, Sky TV, car running costs etc

    Hope this helps x
    :p
  • I agree with above, but my council tax on single persons discount is nearly £90 a month and my water is £33. Beanie, are you metered or monthly? Mine is a monthly amount.
Don't forget things like mobiles, car tax, insurance, breakdown cover, entertainments. These bits all add up. When you have your figure add about 20% for a savings account incase anything else crops up. Then you'll have the total that you are left with, hopefully not a negative figure.
