I am soooo tired . I think it is all this doing nothing!
Off to Brownies soon - planting basil, rosemary and thyme seeds for out hospice appeal.
Then I have my home group.
Then I have to make lasagne for 8 ready for tomorrow nite.

It is quite a posh shop and its in quite a posh area so we get lots of grannys buying presents and stuff. We just need to advertise locally as amazingly loads of local people don't even know we exist. In town there are no childrens clothes shops now so we should be doing really well and making the most of the gap in the marketI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. People are now assuming that I am closing down!
Although maybe that's not such a bad idea!
Have you thought laterally about it ie what activities could you bring into the shop to generate at least footfall of customers?
How about going out to local schools/pre-schools and asking about putting a 10%/20% voucher in their next newsletter. Setting up a book group that could meet in the evenings in the shop and allowing all members permanent % off books. Im sure you have probably thought about all these sorts of things already but sometimes you get so consumed by it all you can't see the wood for the treesI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. free coffee n tea for browsers.... depends on if you could deter the undesirables, maybe there are none in your area....
do you have a reading area....
I'm sure someone suggested a childrens storytime.... that sounds lovely.
do you sell only brand new books? Is there a market in 2nd hand books.... you could offer to source them for people...?
Sell second hand books for others and take commision?
Sell via your store online on amazon marketplace (i know, it's the devil! but if you can't beat em etc)
probably all things you've thought of before hun......
Have a nice time with your girlies! Erin has her Brownies tonight, and she hasn't done her bird spotting homework! oooops! bad mum!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Sure Lenny could help with that homework Maz
Has anyone heard from him? Hope his brakes were ok and he's not in a ditch somewhere!

haven't been to Dorchester for years Sally, got an excuse now
Shopping has arrived. It's the monthly shop OH pays for, lots of storecupboard stuff, cupboards, fridge and freezer are heaving. It needs to last as long as possible, I'm going to try for 15 NSD's next month to try to get my budget in line a bit.
My hiccups had gone. I just ate a banana and they have come back....."Stay Wonky":D

I have a list of 101 challenges to complete in 1001 days - funnily enough one of them is 'drive to Dorchester'........not sure why I chose Dorchester as a kind of yard stick to challenge myself by, but I've got around 980 days left to complete it!"Stay Wonky":D
