Where do they come from?? Do they have a name or anything on them?

The paper airmiles are all about 10 years + old now - they are not named or dated so are still valid - check your filing cabinets everyone!

There is a trade for them on ebay.

I have collected airmiles for over 30 years - they were all paper in those days, and I still have them. Am about to convert them. It is interesting to see that only the one female in this discussion actually uses her airmiles. When our kids were young, airmiles provided us with flights to Malaga, Gibralter and Copenhagen, more than once each, or we could not have afforded a holiday. Now my husband and I are planning our trip to Australia and Airmiles have a deal of 5000 airmiles for a return flight to Sydney. I have never paid over the odds for things I needed just to collect, and think they are great. I agree that sometimes the part airmiles/part payment deal is really economical. I do find that airport parking and hotels can be got a lot cheaper elsewhere and are very airmiles-hungry deals.:rotfl::T

Hi, Is this 5000 airmile deal to sydney a return flight, could you please tell me where you got this from have looked on the airmiles sight but cant find this offer, would love to take this offer up too, I have 1250 airmiles now.....thanks x

When I took out my Virgin Atlantic American Express card with air miles I was foolishly under the impression that 1 airmile would get you 1 mile in the air. When I enquired about flights to America she quoted me 48,000 air miles. My sister says after 3 years they wipe your balance to zero. If you don't have enough miles to cover the whole trip you can only use a small amount i.e. 250 airmiles towards the flight. It seems a big rip off to me.

I think you are talking about Virgin Atlantic miles here. Airmiles (as in airmiles.co.uk) are either 5,000/6,500/8,000 miles for return to USA (depending on destination)

And as you have a Virgin Amex, your miles should not technically expire. All you need to do is make a small purchase and it clock goes back to 3 years.
