Check your Eon quarterly account carefully

Hi all - received my quarterly account this week.
apart from the shock of an enforced tariff change,at much higher rates, I found Eon for some inexplicable reason had missed off the account my 10% online discount .
Two telephone calls established that the discount had disappeared, for reasons unknown. A new recalculated bill was to be issued with the discount, however yet again the "recalculated" bill had a discount of only 38pence applied - on an account of £625 for the quarter (gas & elec).
Taking this up with them when they reopen to customers calls tomorrow. meantime the lesson for us all is to be vigilant, and check our accounts carefully.
cheers,
jtp

Same thing happened to me last week - see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1438375
- no developments (revised bill or whatever) so far. It's only rock 'n' roll ...0 -
Hi thanks for this - I've now spoken to 3 different eon employees none of whom to be aware of this problem; and like yourself my bill was issued on 21st January 2009.
I'm pursuing this as a formal complaint, takes time and energy but needs to be done.
Also, I was moved in August from a tariff with a 20% discount (informed it was withdrawn , it was energy extra saver) to a basic 10% discount (energy on line). I don't see any info on eon's advertised tariffs relating to any other discounts outside of 10%, and certainly nothing in writing about regional discounts.
Anyone else out there on a discount of more than 10%? cheers, jtp0 -
thanks for this. I just checked my final bill (just moved suppliers) and indeed they haven't given me my discounts. Called them and they said there had been some "problems" with the discounts - I wonder if they would have told me if I hadn't called?0

If its your final bill if you check your T&C I think you will find you dont qualify for a discount0 -
Got an email reply from EON this morning :
" I apologise as this is a systems error. We are aware of this problem and you will be shortly receiving a letter which is being sent to all the affected customers.
The missing discount will be automatically applied to your next bill and I apologise again for any inconvenience caused. "It's only rock 'n' roll ...0 -
I havent had any email as yet from eon, although the customer services manager did promise me 2 days ago she would be in touch.
however, thanks to this forum, the problem has moved on and will I'm sure be resolved.
the positive for me is that I was motivated into researching the best tariff, which Eon dont make easy to find out from their website. I have in fact found there are "regional" discounts, and that for my region it is approx 17.5%.
thanks to everyone contributing, much appreciated.
