  • Got help with transporting the kids to school

Only £20 a week but it all helps
  • the good news is I managed to get some of my wages out of my bank this morning to pay my rent :j

CCCS advised me to get a new bank as I have an overdraft on the old one & I was too late to get my wages changed over

hopefully I'll be able to get the rest out over the next few days as easily.
  • What a great idea for a thread! With everyone on this board cutting back and beign stressed, it's refreshing to see updates on people who can see the light at the end of the tunnel or are unexpectedly ahead.

This month I got an extra £109.19 in my pay packet for back pay, :j and a couple months ago, I found some Christmas money from 2004

By having both of those go onto my debts, I'll pay them off a by October, not November 2007!

    What a great thread!
I left a part time job in december to concentrate on my studies and have just received a payslip from them with £20 for hours I'd thought were payed already and £70 holiday pay in lieu. Now I'm sure I'd taken most of the holiday I was entitled to, and been paid at the time, so really didn't consider I might be due anything. £90 bonus, :j its a great feeling isn't it?!

I have some back pay coming in May, about £900 i think, it's going straight onto the debts. but more importantly, my Mum found our cat last night, he's been gone for four weeks and is a real softy. He's a bit skinnier but otherwise ok. We're so pleased to have him home!

While changing all the direct debits/standing orders to my new basic bank account (thanks MSE!) for my DMP with CCCS, I discovered that there was an old insurance policy that should have been cancelled in 2002. The nice people at AXA sent me a cheque for £983!!!! I was truly amazed!

So now, I've knocked a little bit more off the £16K I owe. One small step for AXA, one giant leap for me.

Just want to say thanks for all the MSE advice on this forum. You people are completely gorgeous. Thanks.

Egg have finally accepted my request for a credit limit increase (after a bit of protracted negotiation via secure messaging) which means that, come March, I can super balance transfer OH's loan (currently at a "preferential and competitive" rate of 10.9%) onto Egg and then eventually over to a 4.9% LOB card. It also means that we can use the £400+ per month he was spending on the loan for our snowballing calculations, which means Barclaycard and Lloyds credit cards get paid off super fast. So happy!
