housing benefit vs course fees + study costs

Options
Im currently working 16hrs a week and most of my rent is paid by housing benefit. My son will be starting school in sep so I am looking at starting a degree to fill the rest of my time. Ive looked on the open university site and will be entitled to my course fees being paid and also help with study costs but what I need to know is will hb somehow include this as income?
thanks

Simple answer is no, course fees are paid direct to the OU and are not income. Get enrolled and enjoy your study.

Best of luck with your OU studies, I've been with them for a while and I've loved every minute of it, the empowerment of being a student with them is fantastic.

    Don't study BU130 however, it's a truly awful course!

just looked and the reviews dont make it look very appealing!!

Im going to do a small 10 point course from march to july just to get me back into the learning and assignment side of things then will start properly after that.

I like the fact I can further myself, get qualifications and I havent got to sit in a room feeling quite old lol
