Hi there
im visiting the USA in May 09 and i'll be staying for 6 months - have already got a B2 tourist visa in place. My question is; will it be possible for me to open a dollar current account at a US bank in the US with having an SS number or fixed address?
Thanks

Yes - If you have a preference as to which bank it is , telephone their London office and ask what their requirements are.0

Yes I don't see any reason why you cant. Most banks operate globally, so for instance you can open a HSBC bank account in US if you have an existing one in the UK. Hope this helps.
Call your bank and make more enquiries.I work on behalf of MS, however, my views do not necessarily reflect theirs, I am not acting as a representative of the company while on this forum and I cannot warrant that what I say is 100% correct in all cases.0 -
