You don't need to be a student, just 16 to 25 as the name suggests.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Fire Fox is correct.
It is a "Young Persons" railcard, not a student rail card.I can take no responsibility for the use of any free comments given, any actions taken are the sole decision of the individual in question after consideration of my free comments.

Fire Fox is right
The railcard is for 16-25 year olds so she's entitled to one whether she's a student or not. The reason it's often mistakenly called a student railcard is that you are eligible to apply for one after you are 25, if you are a student
Plus it's often given as an incentive with student bank accounts

OP said she is 16 and finishes school in July. Not that her birthday is in July as well, I do believe.I can take no responsibility for the use of any free comments given, any actions taken are the sole decision of the individual in question after consideration of my free comments.

Another thing they won't tell you is... if you are over 25 but can prove you are in full time education you are eligible for one.
Also... if you're about to finish uni or just about to turn 26 you can still buy one. They last a year and you only have to be a student/under 25 to buy one initially.0 -

Yes, just go into your local train station with a passport sized photograph and ask for the 16-25 rail card. They will probably give you a form to fill in and once complete, they will take that little passport photo and place it on a rail card. Should be able to take it away there and then and start using it. As long as she is 16, has a passport sized photograph, she'll be able to get one at most train stations. Either that or you can do it online I think.0 -

There are sometimes discounts for buying it on-line, so do check.0
