maby we should, Ive had so many people tell me no, no, no you must not let the baby sleep in your bed and oh No is she still using a dummy..... Ive been told to just let them cry for a night, to me thats just so wrong, I have a super king bed and we hardly notice my little girl in the middle, and waking up in the morning to see her little brown eyes and the smile that apears as she wakes, I wouldnt change it for the world.
People who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones...

It is much easier to see other people's failings than our own.
  • I'd go with the flow depending on what you feel your child needs. My daughter was 6 months when I dropped her mid morning and she had pureed fruit or rice cakes instead plus she always drinks loads of water. She's now 11 months and has bottle upon waking up, mid afternoon and bed time. In a months time I'm going to introduce cows milk and shortly after drop her afternoon bottle (maybe). I say that as she still has no teeth and i'm finding it difficult to think of snacks she can have without repeating myself over the day. She has fruit, yog and toast for brekkie, lunch is a homemade meal with more purree fruit or yog and dinner maybe some finger sandwiches or another meal, with custard or similar. My son has varied things but has the teeth to deal with it. If I find she is hungrier earllier for her dinner after dropping the bottle I might provide a few ounzes to keep her going. My son i had no idea and he was still having a mid morning bottle at 13 months, i dropped his pm one around the time his sister was born as I was dealing with 9-10 bottles a day by then and I'd had enough of them!!! He was 15 or 16 months.

He still has bedtime bottle of 6-7oz with the teat slit through so its gone in 30 secs. He's 2yr 2mth and its a comfort bed thing. I've said this before on other threads but i'd feel mean saying to him your too big for a night time bottle when Molly is next to him having hers. He also has a dummy and a blankie for comfort. I think he'll drop it when he's ready and probably when his sister is a bit older and she starts doing more for herself.

I'm on the stop making them grow up too fast if they are not ready camp!
