Hey Everyone,
My girlfriend and I are looking to go on holiday this July for around £800 may be able to stretch a bit.
We are looking to go all-inclusive(with booze preferably) and want a nice sunny chill out style holiday.
We have had a look through some brochures etc but not really sure where to go?
We arent sure what places have good weather that time of year etc.
Anyone have any recommendations for us? ( also we are both 20, I am fairly well travelled but she is not)
Not looking for too much excitement, just want a good relax after a stressful year
Thanks in advance

At that age me and my now husband loved the quieter resorts in the Greek Islands. Santorini is lovely, though you probably wouldn't go all inclusive, just go out to different restaurants every night and lunch.
It's probably not the best time for the Caribbean weatherwise, but you could look for a last minute deal to one of the cheaper resorts in the Maldives possibly.0 -
With the pound so weak, I would not advice anything in Europe that is not All Inclusive.
You could do a two week 5* all inclusive to Turkey for that and get some change. July will be particularly hot though.:D0 -
Even though the pound is weak it is still very cheap to buy food etc. in some places, and so it can be far cheaper to go SC than AI.0

Do you have any examples of where this would be so in the Eurozone. The last time we went to Europe the pound wasn't as weak as it is now and it cost us a small fortune for a 2 week holiday (I am sure we spent around £1500 for 2 adults for 2 weeks)0 -
Hi
I would tend to agree with In Debt about the cost of living in Europe.
We went to Zante for 2 weeks in June 2008 on S/C basis and spent £1000 on food and drinks. We didn't eat in fancy places and didn't hit the cocktails big-style, just traditional Greek food and local wine. That was eating out lunch & dinner.
The exchange rate at the time was €1.20 = £1 so that £1000 would be nearer £1200 at today's rates.
And that's not taking the cost of getting there into account.
July is not the hurricane season in the Caribbean but I don't know what the rainfall is like then.
To be honest, £800 per person is not a lot for Caribbean resorts and I'd strongly advise against booking a cheap AI (to anywhere). The food will probably not be great and you may be limited to local drinks.
I think you'd struggle to get AI in the Maldives within your budget.
What about one of the Red Sea resorts (Sharm/Hurgada etc)? You would get a choice of 4* AI for your budget.
How about Gambia? Not been so can't advise.
Morocco?
Tunisia?
Let us know where you decide to go.0 -
I can only go by what I know about prices around the costa blanca area in spain.
In Calpe you can go into any of the restaurants by the marina and get a 3-course meal with a glass of wine fo £9 a head outside of school holidays and £10 a head inside school holidays.
Around the benidorm area I believe the same is true.
Other items bought from supermarkets are cheaper than in UK and I believe drinks in bars are as well.
Where you get the expensive items is around all inclusive resorts (Majorca, Tenerife etc.) Prices seem to be puched up to around UK prices or higher in those areas. So people going to those areas are better off going AI.
However, anyone going to areas with cheaper restaurant prices etc. would save money by going SC.
I think the thing to do is to find an area where there are many apartments or villas (rather than exclusively AI hotels) and check with the owners to see what prices are like.0 -
