Hi everyone,
I have looked around and cant find a clue on this. Basically I want to to a PgDip in Guidance after I graduate. It is only a full-time course as it has placement elements in it.
The question is this, I would need to get a loan of some description to fund my studies but my credit rating is shot to pieces. How strict are they on CDL's? Are there any other loans I can try and access?
Thanks in advance

Best place to look for information is probably www.Direct.gov.uk0

I'm afraid that CDLs, unlike Student Loans, are credit checked quite strictly. Have you looked at getting a job as a trainee with an organisation like Connexions and doing the NVQ route?0 -
Thank you everyone for your contribution.
Oldernotwiser vbmenu_register("postmenu_18075641", true); , I have looked at that yet. I will phone them up tomorrow.0 -
Have you tried looking for any grants. They are often available for postgrads.
I ended up getting a CDL. I found out later that I could have applied for a few grants to cover course fees.
Definately check out Direct Gov, and also ask at the uni you plan to go to. They may be able to help.
HTHLooking forward to the future.0 -

Unfortunately the PG Diploma in Guidance has been self funding for some time.
When I did the equivalent DipCG there was not only a mandatory grant but you could also get funding for it from government training funds. How times change!
(Sorry OP; no help to you whatsoever - just musing!)0
