I accidentally bought two large bags of onions instead of one and my dad has left a bag of them on my doorstep from his allotment.
I know they keep quite well but im never going to get through them all. Ive already chopped a few up to freeze but does anyone have any recipes I can make that would use up a few up at a time.
Another question if I decide to freeze vegetables do I par cook them first or can I just chop them up and put into bags to freeze.
Thank Jay

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

you can chop them up and freeze them raw, no problems there.

How about some dips, like salsa or garlic and onion dip? Admittedly it won't use loads of onions but is another way of using some up and makes a very tasty snack!!Thank you to all posters :A0

Can you make onion rings (battered and fried) to go with something?0

Your dad's onions should keep for a fair while yet.
Freeze one bag
Use the other as you go
store your dad's somewhere cool.0 -
Hi how about some nice French Onion soup or to save space in your freezer some nice onion chutney? I don't have a recipe but I'm sure you could get one from the internet.:D0

I know the feeling!Although supposedly salsa is virtually fat free if it's just made with tomatoes, onions & garlic etc. I'm going to try and make some myself today using an internet recipe - have always just eaten shop-bought before now.
