My sis and I are taking our children to Liverpool during the half term. We managed to get the Travelodge at Liverpool Docks for the £26 per night offer. We plan to arrive Sunday lunchtimeish stop over and spend Monday sightseeing and depart about teatime. The children are 14 (girl), 12, 9 and 6 (boys) - what do you Liverpudlians recommend?

Hi
Ferry Cross the Mersey
Maritine Museum
The Beatles Story
"The duck" I think its called, sort of a cross between a boat and a bus that drives around for abit then goes into the water at the Albert dock.
These are all on the front, not far from the Travel Lodge.
Also have a walk into town and have a look at the shops.
Both the catherdrals are also good but might be abit boring for the kids.
Have a good time its a great city to visitSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Thanks - been dying to go for ages. Looking forward to shops but will have to keep kids busy too. How far is town centre from the docks and do you know if there is transport. We were planning on leaving the car parked and taking public transport.0 -

Hi I went on this when I took a friend who was visiting me for a day trip to liverpool, it was fun! made a big splash when we went in the water! The website for more info and booking tickets is https://www.theyellowduckmarine.co.uk
The Beatles museum was also pretty good - you get these headphone sets to listen to info abt the different things, but I think the younger ones would probably get bored!!

I've been meaning to go to see the 'installation' on crosby beach called 'another place'. it's lots of life sized casts of the artist who did the angel in the north. depends on the weather and what your kids like, but it's 'something completely different'!!

The 'Another Place' sculptures are definitely worth seeing. I live 2 min from them and they still amaze me every time I visit the beach. Especially at sunset...
Hop on the train from Liverpool Central to Blundellsands and Crosby (takes 23 minutes) and it's a 5 min walk to the beachfront. Or you can drive, just follow the signs for Southport.0 -
Hi ,you could also visit the new museum in the city centre (10 mins walk from travelodge) lots of interactive stuff to do for the kids. City centre is 2 mins walk from the albert dock.
You could also take them on a ferry cross the mersey ,with a visit to the Seacombe aquarium at the other side ,this is very popular.
Tons of other stuff to do on the outskirts, but youll have more than enough in the city centre to do.Moneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!0
