U switch guaranteed 10% cheaper not true

Hello this is my first posting.

I have today got a comparison quote from U Switch regarding home insurance, on their homepage they will guarantee to beat any home insurance by 10% like for like, i had a renewal of £178.78 from only insurance all singing all dancing policy with voluntary excess £0 and compulsory £50 now u switch came up with £207.73 so i rang them as it says and when the person went through the details the policy i am actually being covered for much more than uswitch, so anyway after a while the person said they could not adhere to their 10% due to my excess being £50 when theirs is £100 so i went and made my excess £100 the same and my quote was still only £189.02 but u switch still refused to beat my quote by 10% sighting that there are strict terms and conditions regarding this deal, all i can say is what a great scam of excuses they come up with so they can get out of it.
Very bitter about this but will soon cheer up.:mad:

yes absolutly true, there scammers. I was told they will only give you this 10% if your cheapest quote was with the insurance company called 'brits'.

This should not be allowed...

Got my renewal through from LV also did a comparison on uswitch.
The same company I'm with came out best but £25 more so I rang them.
My home buildings insurance has a blanket up to £1,000,000 rebuild cover. They told me as I don't have a specific rebuild cost their offer is not valid for me.

I tried clicking on their T&C page and unsurprisingly the page wouldn't load!

Has anyone actually managed to get uswitch to honour their 10% deal?????

We do still offer a guarantee to beat your renewal quote by 10%, in line with the terms and conditions laid down on our website, which are:

• Your renewal price must be a minimum of £100.
• Cover must be like for like, excluding blanket cover where insurance is provided under a single limit and based on the renewal with your current insurer.
• We will match your policy excess subject to a minimum of £100.
• Written proof of the renewal document must be provided within 21 days of taking out a policy with uSwitch.
• Quotations provided will be subject to the standard insurance acceptance criteria of our underwriter, Brit Insurance.
• This offer is only available to new uSwitch Home Insurance customers.
• The guarantee is for a policy with Brit insurance company.

If you meet the conditions, but are having trouble with the guarantee, please call 0800 123 700 for assistance.
