problem with swinton

i am with a company called moneyway,in august last year my home insurance was due for renewal so moneyway asked if they could get me cheaper buildings+contents insurance. They put me in touch with swintons where i was asked several questions before i was told they could beat my current insurance by £12 a month. They said they would set everything up with moneyway and i wouldnt need to do anything else.In december my mortgage provider threatened to charge me £20 a month for not supplying them with evidence of my buildings insurance,so i rang swintons explained i had never had a copy of this so the gentleman said he would fax a copy to them and also a copy of my proposal. In jan 2009 i had a burst pipe and a loss adjuster was appointed and he asked us several questions one being have we any ccjs.We told him yes and thought no more about it.A week later we were told our claim was being investigated because on the proposal we had said no to the ccjs.I explained we had never been asked the question but because it was on the proposal we must have said it.I explained i still hadnt had a proposal so i didnt no what was on it ,they said theyt would send me another copy,a week later still no proposal so rung again and was asked if i had a dodgy postman.Another copy was sent out and i received it on the 20th of jan,in the proposal was 10 questions that i wasnt asked 1 being how many live at the property,on the proposal it says 2 (im married with 3 children)ive sent letters to both swintons and my insurance and am waiting for there reply but where do i stand now because even though im being told im still insured they might not honour the claim until further investigation.I was told for peace of mind i should take out further insurance ,but can i insure my house twice????? any advice would be welcomed and sorry about the long thread
