Eon OnlineSaver V12
Just noticed this tariff, not sure when it was announced. I am currently on V8 and on the surface of it, V12 looks a bit cheaper. But the sneaky monkeys have reduced the discounts from 13.3% down to 10% - so overall it's a bit more expensive. And they thought we wouldn't notice! Very sneaky

Depends where you are. In my parents' case the discount is higher for v12 than for v8 so it's better for them to change.0

I think the regional discounts have disappeared now. According to the switching websites there is 8% for having dual fuel direct debit and 2% for managing your account online i.e. 10% for everyone. Not so long ago, I received 19%0 -

I'm not sure about that.
For my parents v8 gave 8% and 7% so a total of 15%. v12 gives 8% and 9.5% so a total of 17.5%.
We're in the Scottish Power region.0 -

Looks like I'm wrong from what Stewie says. I'm in the Seeboard region, and at the moment, I am getting 13.3% (8% + 5.3%) on v8. I tried 4 of the main switching websites and they all said 8% + 2% for my region on v12. I wonder why you are getting 4.2% more than me - that's quite a difference.0 -

I would hope that all of the main comparison sites would give the same tariff and discounts for the same region - there wouldn't be any point in comparing otherwise. You would need to put your postcode in as a different region to get different figures for the other areas.I wonder why you are getting 4.2% more than me - that's quite a difference.
Perhaps we are paying more in unit prices in the first place.0 -
I recently changed from V5 to V12 after looking at the prices it seemed it would be cheaper for me, I then e mailed customer services asking what the discounts are on each product V5 is 19.6% V12 is 14%. I have just been on the phone to switch back and the chap says he can't do it. I have an e mail saying I can within 14 days, so he's looking into it and is going to get back to me. Moral is don't switch online ring them up and ask all the questions. To be honest EON's website is very vague and doesn't give the customer all the info as I think it should.0
