Anyone used Lloyds Phone banking?

I need an advice as per phone banking with Lloyds. I'm on a overseas trip right now which takes longer then expected. I have a few bills to be paid soon not to mention that I obviously won't be able to access my check book at the nearest time. I went to lloyds web site to look for other payment options. So far the best choice for my situation is to use phone banking. I wanted to call lloyds directly, but it will cost me some money because I'm in France right now. I never used phone banking before, so my question is to expierenced lloyds accont holders.

How exactly to use phone banking?
What information is needed in order to pay my bills over the phone?
I need to pay off 2 of my credit cards and send some money to my nephew's account. Is it possible to do with online banking?
What information I need to prepare before talking to the teller?

  • If you have online banking, you should be able to do all the payments through their online service.
    Cashback Earnt so far in 2009: AMEX £133.93, wepromiseto.co.uk £67.07, Barclaycard £25, MobilePhoneExchange: £28. TOTAL: £254.00
  • You have to be registered for Lloyds phone banking and need a password. When using the phonebank you identify yourself by sort code, account number and will be asked for 2 letters from your password.

Just make sure you don't use the 0845 number, instead, there's 01733 347 007. Much cheaper!

I assume the OP will be calling from a mobile, as s/he's abroad. Many mobile networks will charge for 0800 numbers.
